Our Purpose
-
To seek out the finest leaders and
potential leaders from all aspects of the Temple community and
prepare them to participate in community-oriented
decision-making activities and positions.

To foster increased understanding of
the
problems, opportunities and issues affecting the Temple
community and surrounding area.

To foster community involvement and
the
exercise of civic responsibility by class members.
Our Objectives
-
To
inform the participants
about Temple's history, government, economy, social issues,
needs, opportunities and the existing processes for dealing
with them.

To introduce the participants
and establish dialogue with each other and current leaders of
Temple.
- To encourage the participants
to actively participate in activities which contribute to the
growth and the betterment of the Temple community.
Our Curriculum & Class Days
August:
Orientation-August 11,
2007
September-April:
Class Days
Community
education one weekday a month,
an average of 10 hours per day.
May:
Action Team Reports
Class
Banquet/Graduation
Eligibility Guidelines
for Applicants
-
Must
be a member or employed by a member of the Temple Chamber of Commerce.
-
Prefer residence
and employment in Temple one year immediately prior to September 1 of
the current calendar year.
-
Publicly elected
officials except for Precinct Chairman will not be eligible.
Required Activities for
Class Participants
-
Attend a Temple City Council Meeting
-
Attend a Temple Independent
School District Board Meeting
-
Attend one of the
following: Temple Planning Commission, Bell County Commissioners
Court, Temple College Board Meeting, Temple Chamber of Commerce
Board Meeting or Ride with a Temple Police Officer.

Attend one of the
following: Temple Civic Theatre, Cultural Activities Center
Performance or Temple Symphony Performance.
