The Kyle is a historic building at 111 N. Main in downtown Temple, originally built in 1928 as a hotel.  Later converted into apartments, it is now owned and managed by Temple Housing Authority, a member of the Central Texas Housing Consortium.  The building has recently undergone extensive rehab work, including:

  • Cleaned entire exterior (brick and marble)

  • Refurbished original exterior light fixtures at building entrance

  • Installed awnings on first floor similar to those originally on building

  • Placed four large potted magnolias in front of building

  • Repaired grout and concrete on front and side foundation

  • Stripped, stained and varnished front doors

  • Replaced green tile roof

  • Repainted and installed new flooring in commercial spaces

Future work includes redecorating and furnishing the main lobby.
